91��Ƶ Choral Director and Professor Scott Tuomi was honored with The John C. McManus Distinguished Teacher Award in January by the Oregon Music Education Association. 

Public Health Assistant Professor Adelle Monteblanco has been recognized as one of 15 Emerging Scholars-nationally for 2023 in Diverse Issues In Higher Education. MFA faculty poet Shara McCallum's sixth book, No Ruined Stone, has won the 2022 Hurston/Wright Foundation Legacy Award. The Zora Neale Hurston/Richard Wright Foundation’s Annual Legacy Awards Ceremony honors the best in Black literature in the United States and around the globe.

Nancy Murakami may spend most of her time in Oregon, but the 91��Ƶ social work professor is never far from trauma’s front lines. 

The National Institute of Health has awarded Pharmacy Professor Fawzy Elbarbry $365,966 for a three-year study as part of its “Support for Research Excellence” program. His study, which will involve student researchers, will examine alternate ways to treat hypertension.

A team of 91��Ƶ researchers led by psychology Professor Michael Christopher and Associate Professor Sarah Bowen has been awarded follow-on funding by the National Institutes of Health for research and training of law enforcement officials in mindfulness practices. The project is intended to affect and improve outcomes when first responders arrive in volatile situations.

Faculty, students and alumni from the 91��Ƶ School of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training were recognized in August at the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) House of Delegates held in Washington D.C. 

Communications Science and Disorders Professor Amanda Stead will be honored by the American Speech Language Hearing Association for her special contributions in higher education.
