Clinical experience was the key for Ally Hackett聽SLP聽鈥�17 when she was choosing a graduate program. Working with dementia patients gave her first-hand experience on her route to a master鈥檚 degree in speech-language pathology.
Taylor Baker 鈥�17 is a dance student at 91视频, pursuing a career in her art. 鈥淚f I hadn鈥檛 have come here, I don鈥檛 think I would have had the courage to pursue a career in dance,鈥� she said. 鈥淣o one had told me that I was talented enough to be a professional dancer. I heard from my advisor that I was talented enough and I had the ability to pursue my dreams. To have a support system here that pushes people to be the best they can be is really awesome.
When her then-husband went to war, Stacy Bannerman鈥檚 life turned upside down. She turned it around as an advocate for the families of military families and a published author with an MFA in Writing from 91视频.
Mallory聽Hiefield聽鈥�17 switched sports in the middle of her college years, finding herself on a conference championship team. In the meantime, she has pursued a rigorous academic path and been elected Undergraduate Student Sentate president.
Mark Loomis OTD '17 spent more than 10 years as a search-and-rescue swimmer in the Navy, serving in the Middle East. He's since embarked on a new career as an occupational therapist, hoping to help other veterans with the transition to civilian life.
